Once upon a time...

I am sitting here with a mug of green tea, some homemade sweeties (love you grandma!), listening to the voices of Beyonce and Ed Sheeran and writing the first post of GlassofMemories. And until now, for me, there is no better way to start a sunday evening!

Finally, after some time of thinking, I decided to get started with "THE ESSENTIAL SERIES".
This one will contain all the clothes that I consider to be essentials for a staple wardrobe. I am planning on writing another series on accessories and shoes as well. At present, I am renewing my wardrobe by adding classic items, so I thought it would be a good idea to go through this journey together.

I used to buy clothes that were not that classic at all and were really hard to match (I remember wearing a pink sweater with green jeans...all the sins of my teenage self...would definitely not wear this anymore!!!).
I have never been very interested in fashion until about two years and a half ago. But then I became even more surrounded by the world of blogs, magazines and runway shows. I started researching on blogs, websites and in books for more information about 'the classic fashion style'.
Especially the 'Parisian style' got me. It is very simple, 'trés chic' and its colours are pretty much based on my all-time favorites: black, blue, white, red and gold. I can only recommend reading 'Parisian chic- A style guide' by Ines de la Fressange to get a good overview!

While researching I started organizing and writing down my results in a book. I put everything in categories and added images. After that I went through the web again to search for the items I want to buy for myself. I prefer them to be of good quality, but at the same time they should not be too expensive.
I quickly learned that there are things, like a leather bag, shoes or a warm winter jacket/coat, that are worth spending your money on. And other essentials, considering a white V-neck tee or a simple top, to spend a little less.

I have already begun writing a post about my favorite blogs and websites which I am going to upload soon.

So, this is the start. I hope you like it and that my English is not too bad :P
