Yay, it's skincare time!
I recently set myself a new goal. I wanted to update my skincare.
Easy one!...usually...
these were my rules...
- 100% organic and natural ingredients
- microplastic-free, chemical-free
- if possible: vegan, ecocertified, biodegradable
the reason
Months ago I read a newspaper article about micro plastic and found numerous pins on Pinterest about chemicals and what they can possibly do within your body.
To sum it up: scary to read!
So I decided to give my skincare collection a little 'organic boost'.
the process
First, I decluttered simply every beauty item that I found inside my home,
and checked the ingredients.
I already had very green products that sometimes were even vegan. Thank god!
But I wanted all my products to include only ingredients that are biodegradable.
It is a sad joke that even products that are titled ecological and vegan can include micro plastic.
Here is a list of ingredients I want to avoid:
- Polyethylen PE
- Polyethylenterephthalat PET
- Nylon-12
- Nylon-6
- Polyurethan PUR
- Polypropylen PP
- Ethylen-Vinylacetat-Copolymere EVA
- Acrylic/Acrylates Copolymer AC
- Acrylic/Acrylates Crosspolymer ACS
- Polyquaternium-7 P-7

Oh dear...what a long list :S
Next, I researched for all natural brands and products that could work for myself.
This was and is possibly the hardest part about updating your beauty routine!
But I found some help on Pinterest:
But I found some help on Pinterest:
my results:
I could not update all of my products and am still searching for 'the ones' that work for me.
I have sensitive, dehydrated, normal-combination skin with hormonal breakouts once a month.
- my routine will follow soon-
- my routine will follow soon-
my conclusion:
It was and is very hard for me to find make-up items that are 'really green'.
I am so used to the way that chemical make-up works that it is hard to transit to all-natural make-up.
But I believe it is a little easier for me than others,
because I do not have to switch my mascara, brow products or eyeliner.
I am a minimalist when it comes to beauty although I am a skincare addict- haha what a paradox ;D
But I am very happy with my routine right now and wanted to share it.
I hope this post inspires you to maybe try the same.
Enjoy your day with some #walkingonsunshine
Lot of love,
Belle
P.S. Stay tuned for maybe some beauty wish list!
