My skin is quite problematic. When I was in school I suffered with bad acne.
I have always been very shy, so this was not really something that made me more confident and out-going. But I have never been someone to hide my acne with make-up. I finally started using it when I was 17, so not too long ago, which is quite unusual for a girl, I suppose.
I have always been interested in make-up, but I was torn between using it
('being normal') and my feeling that using make-up feels to me like hiding something, not being myself or trying to be someone else. It took a little time for me to realize that if you use make-up in the right way it can underline your beauty.

After getting involved with blogs, I researched for treatments and daily routines to improve my skin.
I have normal to combination skin, so my nose and chin are oily. My cheeks and forehead, however, are the driest parts of my face (even more in fall/winter). But this is where I usually get my pimples. So, finding the right products was a tricky journey.
Ruth Crilly's (writer of A Model Recommends) posts about her daily skincare regime really helped me.
Maybe our skins are similar. I tried out some products that she recommends, like the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Cream and the Bioderma Sensibio H2O. And I changed parts of my daily skincare regime.

Luckily, my skin got better and is much clearer now. Of course, I still have pimples and tiny breakouts, especially in that 'special' time of the month, but it definitely got much better. And I found products which work well for me when I have bad skin days.
But not only skincare regime and product changes improve your skin - don't forget about nutrition!
From what I experienced, it is very important, to eat the right things (not only to stay fit and healthy).
If your body has, for example, a lack of essential minerals or vitamins it will somehow show it (f.e. pimples).
I will write a separate post about both, my skincare routine and my nutrition. Stay tuned for that.
But please note that I'm definitely not a specialist concerning these topics! I just write down what I have experienced and hope that it will help some of you, too ;)

So this is it from me for today. I hope you all have a lovely day!
